Active euthanasia should be permitted as a medical treatment to allow people the right to die with dignity without pain and in peace. Euthanasia, also known as assisted suicide or mercy killing, takes on many different forms.
Do you think we all have the right to decide our death? We will discuss basic concepts, pros, and cons for a better understanding. This practice is done under the supervision of doctors and is allowed for terminally ill-patients only in most of the countries.
The issue of euthanasia, or assisted dying, is incredibly controversial and there are legitimate concerns on either side of the debate. Today I will propose a motion to the British Medical Association's annual conference in Liverpool, which states:. Further, the law should not criminalise people who accompany those who make rational decisions to end their suffering. The motion will seek to take the issue forward in a compassionate and fair way that I believe will serve the interests of the terminally ill and our society.
